A Carbon Neutral future together with the Western Balkans

In this article, MEP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel together with fellow Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz for the Greens discuss the indispensable role that the states of the Western Balkans play in the transition to a more prosperous, Carbon neutral Europe.
Notwithstanding the challenges the region faces due to its longstanding dependency on coal and lignite, which pose a great health threat to the citizens of the region, this op-ed is forward looking in its scope – outlining this transition as an important step when referring to the European future of the six Western Balkans countries.
